The Covered Bridges Scenic Byway, an 82-mile route through iconic America, provides all of this and more! Located entirely in Madison County in south central Iowa. ALPACA YOGA - Rusty Stars Alpacas - You’ve heard of yoga and even goat yoga, but how about alpaca yoga? If you’re picturing alpacas doing yoga positions, that’s just silly! Paddle your way to (and under) these historic bridges which were featured in the novel and movie, The Bridges of Madison County. https://exploremadisoncounty.com HINTERLAND MUSIC FESTIVAL - Avenue of the Saints Amphitheater, St. Charles, Iowa. A three-day outdoor music festival with onsite camping, food and activities. This year’s headliners included Hozier, Vampire Weekend, and Noah Kahan. http://hinterlandiowa.com/ GLAMPING AND IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES AT PEPPERHARROW FARM - Experience this twenty-acre flower farm cozied on the bluffs above Middle River Valley surrounded by the covered bridges of Madison County, Iowa. Located outside of Des Moines, this beautiful family farm is home to six acres of cut flower gardens, butterflies, birds, bees, with the rest devoted to the forest and fauna that made this place home long before it was a farm. You can experience the farm for yourself through one of PepperHarrow’s classes, workshops or events, or by “glamping” on the farm in a 16'x20' tent fully furnished with all the amenities you need for a comfortable and memorable experience. The $1 million Play-for-ALL playground was a joint effort between the Winterset Rotary Club and Winterset Parks and Recreation. The playground features smaller replicas of a covered bridge and Clark Tower (a popular castle-like monument located within the park) among the modern play equipment.
