This route has two distinct designated routes. The first is highway 71 from Dean’s Market at the edge of the Arkansas River and across the Ozark Mountains to Fayetteville. The area is home to quaint craft shops, mountaintop lodging, and breathtaking views. The other route on Interstate 540, travels from Deans’ Market to Fayetteville, paralleling the other route. This one was cut through very rugged terrain and includes several high-span bridges and the state’s only highway tunnel, the Bobby Hopper Tunnel.
