A dirt road (County Rd 42) through El Malpais NCA southwest of Grants, passing 30 volcanic cinder cones formed 600,000+ years ago. Forms the western boundary of the West Malpais Wilderness and accesses the Continental Divide Trail. High-clearance required; impassable when wet. No water, food, or fuel along the route.
