Lady Slipper Scenic Byway
Originally a Forest Service Scenic Byway, the Lady Slipper Scenic was renamed when it became a MN state scenic byway for the lady slipper flowering plants that bloom along the byway beginning in late June. This byway features pine and hardwood forests, great fishing lakes, recreation opportunities, before crossing the Mississippi River. Stop at the Rabideau Civilian Conservation Corps Camp as you travel from Blackduck, MN and US Hwy 2 just east of Cass Lake as the route cuts through the Chippewa National Forest. Lodging includes campgrounds and resorts. Plan your trip for the ladyslipper blooming or festivals in Blackduck or Cass Lake. More from National Scenic Byway Foundation →
