This byway is part of the International Selkirk Loop, traveling north along the eastern side of the Selkirk Mountains as it follows a Kootenai Tribe’s historic path to fishing grounds at Lake Pend Oreille. While in the mountains enjoy hiking, fishing, Nordic Skiing, and snowmobiling. Visit Lake Pend Oreille, Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge, and the Kootenai Sturgeon Hatchery. As with most Idaho byways in rugged country, fill up with gas and pack plenty of water and food.
