This byway is a gravel road off Highway 78, from Grand View to Jordan Valley, Oregon with mountain and desert views. The Owyhee Mountains’ rugged terrain led it to be the last explored in the lower 48 states. Agates, petrified wood, garnets, and crystals are commonly found in the canyon portion. Off roaders and hikers enjoy the terrain and rock outcroppings. Enjoy fishing at the C.J. Strike Reservoir or camp at the campground. Hikers will see wagon ruts along marked remnants of the Oregon Trail.
