US-80 heads east out of Savannah and crosses two causeways over the Bull River and Lazaretto Creek. At low tide you can see the mudflats open up on both sides, exposing the birds and their marsh grass home. The road was built as a WWI memorial highway, though most people just know it as the way to Tybee Island beach. It's only eleven miles long, but the scenery changes dramatically, from start to finish.
