This byway is named for Duncan Hines, a traveling salesman, restaurant reviewer, cake connoisseur, and best known for his food product line. He was raised on his grandfather’s farm new Bowling Green, making it a great place to start on US 31W (3908 Louisville Rd.) The route winds past stately homes and breathtaking vistas. Traveling northwesterly to Sunfish, turn east and head into the Mammoth Cave State Park and take the ferry. Exit the park and go south to Rocky Hill and head back west to US 31W.
