The Thomas Jefferson Parkway leads the traveler from Charlottesville to Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson. The byway ends here, but the parkway route continues on to Lake Monticello, a private gated community surrounding 352-acre lake and then onto the community of Palmyra.
