This byway in eastern Montana connects the Yellowstone and Missouri Rivers. A section follows the Regina-Yellowstone Trail, which Canadian tourists used to reach Yellowstone National Park. Topography changes from farmland to rolling prairie grassland and scenic scoria buttes to badlands terrain. The area is known for its big game hunting, fishing, hiking, rock hounding, birding, wildlife viewing. The west-northwest section of the county is famous for paleontological research.
