Start at the Navajo National Monument Visitor Center just to the west of Kayenta to learn more about the area and history. The Betatakin Cliff Dwelling ruins and the Navajo National Monument are also nearby. In Kayenta, stop at the Navajo Shadehouse Museum and then head north on 163 to the Utah border to Monument Valley. On the way, stop at the Navajo Indian Market to purchase hand-crafted wares. Enjoy the many buttes along the way and the red sandstone buttes in Monument Valley.
