Join us, for a fascinating journey through time and terrain as we explore the geology and craftsmanship behind Cherokee Ranch & Castle. This immersive program offers a rare look at the rocks, fossils, and architectural ingenuity that shaped one of Colorado’s most iconic landmarks.Event HighlightsWelcome & Geology Introduction  Overview of the ranch’s unique geological history.Great Hall Tour Discover how rhyolite was sculpted into the castle’s majestic columns and towers.Castle Grounds Walk Explore the Upper Dawson Conglomerate beneath the castle, view petrified wood, and uncover other geologic features.Flowers Homestead Visit Learn about the natural springs and the early water system that supported the castle.Closing Reflection at Tweet’s Memorial Garden Conclude the tour with a peaceful moment in one of the ranch’s most cherished spots.      This is a short walking tour around the castle and nearby areas. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. Event Time:  9:00 am - 11:00 amCameras welcome—this tour rocks!Note: Tickets are non-refundable.

Elk Bugling Sightings & Sounds! Bring Your Own Dinner

A fall Tradition for many guests, our elk will be speaking the language of love and you are invited! Learn about the mating rituals of the magnificent Elk while listening to their beautiful rutting calls. Take in the Castle's panoramic views and dazzling colors as autumn appears. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner to enjoy. Beer, Wine, soft drinks, water & snacks will also be available for purchase.. Be prepared for some outside time on the Terrace. A jacket is suggested. Door Time- 5:00 PM Stationary Castle- Tours will be conducted Presentation and Viewing- 6:00 PM to approximately 7:30 PM Please NOTE: It is not permitted to bring any alcohol onto the property. CRCF reserves the right to ask any guests bringing alcohol to leave the property without a refund. Thank you!
