This modern dance class is informed by José Limón technique and Bartenieff Fundamentals, emphasizing the organic rhythms of fall and recovery, the play and contrast between gravity and suspension, and the use of breath and human gesture. Classes begin with a warm-up that integrates floorwork and standing center exercises, emphasizing the development of skills through correct technique, musicality, and spinal articulation, followed by moving across the floor with traveling sequences and the development of improvisation skills.
