Milling demonstrations

School groups visit the Bale Grist Mill in the spring and fall. The Millers give tours on weekends and some Monday holidays, operating a magnificent 1850's working flour mill with an impressive 36 foot waterwheel.

Join us every Saturday, year-round on a tour of the historic mining town. Tours may enter some of the historic facilities.

The historic Hellman-Ehrman Estate (also known as Pine Lodge) is available for tours in the summer months. The mansion provides an interesting view into the lifestyles of the wealthy on Lake Tahoe.
