Healing with Gold: The Japanese Art of Kintsugi on Ceramics and Beyond

Saturday, September 12, 2026
Free
This exhibition features over 30 contemporary art works alongside traditional kintsugi ceramics, exploring how the centuries-old Japanese technique of repairing broken pottery with gold-dusted lacquer has evolved from tea ceremony traditions into a global artistic philosophy. Curated by Japanese art historian Meher McArthur, the show traces this evolution through three thematic sections: Traditional Kintsugi, Contemporary Kintsugi, and Kintsugi in Contemporary Art.
