James S. Snyder, Helen Goldsmith Menschel Director, speaks with author and Jewish Museum collection artist, Edmund de Waal, whose work tehillim (2018) is included in the upcoming exhibition Sacred Splendor: Jewish Ritual Art and Christian Treasures from St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague. De Waal is an artist who writes whose work is about the contingency of memory: bringing particular histories of loss and exile into renewed life.
