Widely regarded as the defining saxophonist of his generation, Joshua Redman returns to The Wallis with Words Fall Short, a new program that shifts away from vocal collaborations toward the expressive possibilities of instrumental storytelling. The performance features a new quartet with pianist Paul Cornish, bassist Philip Norris, and drummer Nazir Ebo, with special guest Skylar Tang.

MOVEMENT(S)! is a high-voltage orchestral celebration of dance led by LA Opera’s first Colombian-American conductor, Lina González-Granados, and featuring one of today’s leading countertenors, John Holiday. Four distinctive composers come together in one great program that reveals how music and movement have always been interconnected.

EVIDENCE, a Dance Company uplifts understanding of the human condition through works that connect audiences to the rich history, traditions and complex stories of African Americans and the African Diaspora. Artistic director Ronald K. Brown’s choreography is a distinctive melding of classical and traditional dance forms, that is “richly expressive and irresistibly kinetic” (NY Times).
