The International Printing Museum

In this colorful workshop, we'll be making inks from forged plants like oak galls, acorn caps, and hibiscus blossoms. We'll also produce watercolors from earth pigments, including ochres, clays and rocks.

The Printing Museum is hosting a TYPEWRITER FESTIVAL to celebrate National Typewriter Day! Experience the timeless beauty of typewriters as you test your speed and precision in the Typewriter Contest, type an original haiku, hear from typewriter experts, join in the collaborative process of writing “never-ending tales” on vintage typewriters, look for hidden gems in our scavenger hunt, and much more.

Students in this course will learn the elegant book structure developed by bookbinder Gary Frost. This book structure makes an excellent sketchbook or journal because it lies flat when opened, and is a sturdy and easily recreated book structure.
