Blarney Star Concert Series: Noel Hill

Jorge Vázquez leads an all-new ensemble consisting of the Plena All-Stars from Puerto Rico: Carlos Espada, Victor Pablo, Joseito Rivera. Joining them are the intrepid Irish folk players Bernadette Fee, Dylan James, and Colin Harte.

Explore the liminal spaces between the Irish Wren Boy winter holiday tradition and the Puerto Rican parranda Christmas processional tradition. The traditions share certain celebratory practices such as parading from different neighbors' homes, playing music in exchange for food, drink, and amusement.
