National Museum of Mexican Art

Children ages 7-12 will learn how to make their own mini trajineras using popsicle sticks and cardboard. Then, participants will decorate their boats using paint and air-dry clay. This workshop is inspired by Xochicago: Floating Gardens of the Chicago River and México.

Families with children 6 and younger are invited to decorate wooden boats with paint markers, air-dry clay, and other materials, inspired by the colorful trajineras found in Xochimilco. This workshop is led by teaching artist Nancy Alvarado Rosas.
