Salty Crackers plays old-time fiddle and string band music emphasizing older, pre-Nashville traditions with an impassioned yet preservationist approach. Their repertoire spans early American folk music through the first half of the twentieth century, delivered through the Appalachian vernacular and traditional acoustic instrumentation.

Allen Krantz is an acclaimed composer, guitarist, and educator whose work spans solo, chamber, orchestral, and vocal music. He is the director of the guitar program at Temple University and an influential figure in contemporary classical music.
