In conjunction with the world premiere of Overflow Radio in Mni Sóta Makoce (Minneapolis), DiverseWorks hosts an Overflow Radio: Šakotayišol Nunuš Constellation here in Houston. Over 24 non-consecutive hours, we will gather in-person to listen to twelve First Nations and Indigenous authors, poets, and scholars live-broadcasting from their home territories and First Nations.

The DiverseWorks Art + Climate Partners present Emily Johnson as the inaugural speaker for Art + Climate CONVERSATIONS. Join Houstonians, climate advocates, dance and art enthusiasts, and artists alike on the evening of July 29th for a talk by Johnson, a Yup’ik multi-disciplinary artist, choreographer, land and water protector, and organizer for justice, sovereignty, and well-being.

NUESTROWORLD is a satirical solo exhibition by Brooklyn-based artist Jesus Benavente, conceived of as a visual album and immersive “amusement park.” This project features interconnected works unfolding across the gallery and city, collectively highlighting Houston’s cyclical history of ambition, folly, and heartbreak.
