This four-day workshop teaches classroom educators about papermaking as an art form and how to produce papermaking units for their students.
This experimental papermaking class will explore multi-layered image making with translucent abaca fibers and opaque linen pulp paint. Participants will be invited to use the positive and negative space in their images to explore transparency and opacity of materials and additive and subtractive techniques.
Students will learn to record dimension and texture with paper pulp using experimental casting processes, building on technical basics and applying skills to various paper casting methods.
