We Were Fridays is an interdisciplinary music project led by cellist Jeffrey Zeigler - a deeply personal exploration of cultural memory and diaspora. Told through cello, electronics, and dance, the project explores the music of the Gullah people of the Low Country of South Carolina to explore forbidden love, fractured lines, and complex legacies.

Writer and cultural critic Marcus J. Moore leads a live listening session with Jeffrey Zeigler, Luke Stewart, No Land, Daniel Carter, Dick Griffin, and Sun Ra: Door of the Cosmos diving into the music, creative process, and larger cultural conversations surrounding We Were Fridays, all brought to you by our friends at Kickstarter.
