
The Design Review Board (DRB) interprets and enforces the design regulations contained in the Davidson Planning Ordinance. The Board reviews the building schematic design of all new commercial, civic/institutional and multifamily construction as well as additional structures as required by the Davidson Planning Ordinance.

As public stewards of the Davidson Historic District, the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) has several powers and responsibilities. These include recommending to the Board of Commissioners the designation, or the removal, of historic district overlay zoning; granting requests for proposed changes within the historic district that are congruous with state, federal, and local governments in pursuance of its responsibilities; and conducting meetings or hearings necessary to carry out these roles.

The Sustainability Board provides recommendations and advice to the Town of Davidson Board of Commissioners and Town of Davidson staff regarding Town sustainability initiatives, including but not limited to Climate Action Plan implementation.
