Craft & Folk Art Museum

Throughout the exhibition, tierra artist Jackie Amézquita will be on-site at Craft Contemporary as part of our Maker-in-Residence program on select Fridays. Using soil gathered from around the United States, Jackie will be mixing the gathered soil with masa, cacao, spring water, and other materials.

Discover how textile waste can be transformed into something meaningful in this hands-on workshop! Using discarded denim, participants will create functional stationery while exploring sustainable practices that prioritize environmental health.

Led by textile artist Mahdiyyah Muhammad, join a siddi quilt-making circle in the galleries, surrounded by artists who are exploring ancestral relationships to the land. Learn about the ancestral knowledge and storytelling embedded in kawandi patchwork and bring home your own one-of-a-kind quilted square made with upcycled materials.
