A new solo exhibition by Los Angeles-based, Bay Area–trained artist Greg Ito that explores cycles of sacrifice, inheritance, and renewal through personal narrative and collective memory. Drawing inspiration from The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, Ito traces how the story’s meaning shifts over time through new paintings, sculptures, and a video installation.

Queer American Memorials reclaims public space, replacing stories of violence with stories of life and community by placing interactive markers at locations where queer people were murdered from 1999 to 2009. At the ICA San José, the exhibition presents its first California memorial in progress, honoring Alina Marie Barragan (1980-2000), a Latinx trans youth and San José native.
