Tu casa es mi casa

Wednesday, September 23, 2026
An exhibition that connects two modernist houses in Los Angeles and Mexico City via the exchange of texts, objects, and installations by contemporary writers and architects/artists. Three California-based writers were asked to craft a letter to one of the three Mexico City–based design teams, who responded with site-specific installations at the Neutra VDL House.

About Neutra VDL Studio and Residences

Built by Viennese-American architect Richard Neutra with a no-interest loan from Dutch philanthropist Dr. C.H. Van Der Leeuw, this experimental "glass house" was designed to accommodate his office and two families on a small lot. After a fire, Richard and his son Dion redesigned the main house, applying their learned principles of sun louvers, water roofs, and "nature-near" design.story
