The Condor Daughter

Friday, September 18, 20265:40 PM8:00 PM
THE CONDOR DAUGHTER tells the story of Clara, a teenager growing up in a small indigenous community high in the Andes. While her voice carries on the tradition of ancient songs taught by her adoptive mother, her dreams lie elsewhere: she longs to leave the mountains behind and become a folkloric music star in the big city.

The Wild Palms: Made in U.S.A & 2 or 3 Things I Know About Her
Sep 18·6:30 PM

This screening puts into practice a radical Godardian proposition: a 35mm projection of both Made in USA and Two or Three Things I Know About Her as a single work, their reels and narratives intertwined. Presented here for the first time in the US.

Yi Yi
Yi Yi
Sep 18·2:40 PM

The gentle, restrained, and terribly humane Yi Yi observes the interplay between three generations of an upper middle-class Taipei family. A work of epic length that avoids even a hint of bombast, dedicated instead to working its way into the hidden, niche spaces of everyday people’s emotional lives, it’s a film as rich and as sad as life itself.
