Taking inspiration from Dvorák's call to bring spirituals into the concert hall, the program features Adolphus Hailstork's Three Spirituals for Orchestra and showcases the Springfield Symphony Orchestra's Hellam Competition Winner. The program also includes Felix Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto with Fiona Shea, Violin and Dvorak's New World Symphony.
