Sky Stone Cycle Summer Movie Series – Treasure Planet

Join us at Houston Zoo for a special screening of Houston Zoo & KPRC's latest award-winning film Saving Lions: The Pride of Kenya featuring National Geographic Explorer and founder of Ewaso Lion, Dr. Shivani Bhalla.

Directed by Leslie Buchbinder, Hairy Who & The Chicago Imagists, 2014, offers a vivid portrait of a groundbreaking moment in Chicago’s art history. Through rare archival footage, interviews, and music, the film traces how a group of artists transformed the city’s cultural landscape with their bold, unconventional approaches.

In support of the exhibition Sky Stone Cycle by artist Erika Blumenfeld, we’ll be screening space themed movies this summer. The movie for July 17, is Project Hail Mary. In the near future, astronaut Ryland Grace wakes from a coma afflicted with amnesia. He gradually remembers that he was sent to the Tau Ceti solar system, 12 light-years from Earth, to find a means of reversing a solar dimming event that could cause the extinction of humanity.
