Rembrandt’s Lions: Art and Exile in the Dutch Republic

This exhibition brings together drawings, etchings, and paintings to highlight the formative presence of migrants, immigrants, exiles, and refugees in Rembrandt’s world and work. It also foregrounds stories of diaspora that figure prominently in many of his etchings.

The Morgan Library & Museum

The museum began as the private library of J.P. Morgan, the prominent financier of the turn of the 20th century. His personal collection of rare books and manuscripts eventually became a gift to the community, preserving a sense of his historical wealth and power.story_potoo
