Math Magic

Join author and educator Dave Cole for an interactive workshop that combines math, magic, and plenty of student participation. Math is more than numbers on a page; it is woven into the world around us, from patterns in nature and animals to weather, space, and the stars!

Create your own ceramic version of a water lily in a special two-part ceramics workshop in partnership with Laumeier Sculpture Park. Participants will join a brief discussion about the different types of water lilies at the Garden and be inspired to create their own ceramic water lily dish.

In this session, Jack Bedtke of Thrivent Financial will introduce students to youth banking accounts, saving, and the basics of investing. Participants will learn how starting early can help them develop healthy financial habits and work toward long-term goals.
