The exhibit chronicles the story of Thornton and Lucie Blackburn, an enslaved couple who found freedom in Canada after a daring escape from Louisville and a jail break in Detroit. The special program features archaeologist Karolyn Smardz Frost and artist Hannah Drake, who will perform original poetry inspired by Lucie.
