Get to know your fellow young artists and practice your storytelling skills! At this camp, we'll explore artworks in LACMA's galleries and around the museum's campus to help guide our own art-making journeys, then experiment with a variety of materials and techniques, combining them to create intriguing mixed media pieces.
Explore water as a powerful force in both nature and art. Through looking at artworks in LACMA’s galleries, hands‑on studio projects, and creative discussions, we'll discover how artists across cultures have represented oceans, rivers, rain, and water rituals, then experiment with drawing, sculpture, mixed media, and storytelling to create original artworks that reflect water’s beauty, movement, and importance to life on Earth.
What makes for a memorable adventure at the museum? We'll expand our curiosity with a variety of artistic adventures, experimenting with an array of materials and techniques, visiting the museum galleries with fascinating questions in mind, and creating a collaborative work of art along with our individual pieces.
