The Jumbo Shrimp Jazz Band is a high-energy party band that roots itself in New Orleans jazz, but can fly off into early New Orleans R&B, surf rock, funk, gypsy swing, punk, pop, Caribbean music, or whatever suits the moment. Started by bandleader Colin Myers as a traditional jazz busking group, they play a style some call “progressive traditional jazz” that is fresh, accessible, and danceable.
