This weekend, Historic Sotterley will be hosting our annual Day of Unity and Healing, which is a descendant-led event focused on shared history and understanding. In honor of this event, Historic Sotterley will be offering its guided tours with an additional focus on the history of slavery and examples of perseverance.
With more than 320 years of history under its belt, Sotterley has been witness to a wide breadth of American military history and was home to several members of the military, including Herbert Satterlee, who served as Assistant Secretary of the Navy.
