Reflecting on how a clay vessel can be a symbol of divine gifting or the embodiment of judgment, Dr. Anathea Portier-Young, Professor of Old Testament at Duke Divinity School, will explore the ways in which the prophet Jeremiah's visit to the potter's shed draws the prophet into a dynamic and intra-active process of co-creativity in which the clay itself is also an agent.
