Hard Luck Café, begun in 1992, strives to present local, regional and up-and-coming national touring artists in an intimate atmosphere. Held on the third Wednesday of the month, from September to June, in the Cinema Arts Centre Sky Room Café, the Hard Luck Café usually features live folk performances, preceded by an open mic.

Joel Ford is a producer, mixer, engineer and composer known for projects like Games and Ford & Lopatin, and for mixing the Nintendo game 'Legend of Zelda: Cadence of Hyrule.' Chris Berry has toured with artists like AJR and Hot Chip, and has recorded for Iggy Pop.
