About The Kitchen
Founded in 1971 by video artists Woody and Steina Vasulka, this Chelsea institution was initially an artist collective operating out of the former kitchen of the Mercer Arts Center. It quickly became a vital space for experimental artists, helping to launch the careers of figures like Philip Glass and Talking Heads.story

This class explores Michael Chekhov's 'psycho-physical' approach to acting, through the basic principles and exercises outlined in Chekhov's book 'To the Actor,' including psycho/physical exercises, character work and ensemble improvisation. Taught by Master Teacher, Janice Orlandi.
