Participants will explore identity, heritage, and shared values by designing a personal symbol that represents who they are. Inspired by traditional crests and contemporary visual storytelling, participants will reflect on colors, shapes, and imagery that hold meaning in their family.

The Harvey B. Gantt Center For African American Arts & Culture

The center is named in honor of Harvey Gant, who served as Charlotte's first African-American mayor. It serves as a reflective prism for the community to celebrate the significant contributions of African-Americans to society.story_potoo
