A man and a woman meet at a hotel located in a baroque château; he claims they had an affair a year ago, but she has no memory of him. A film of absolute ambiguity in both content and style, marked by abrupt shifts in timeframe and location, untrustworthy narration, and disconcerting editing patterns.

Mrs. Brisby, a widowed mouse, must move her children from their home in a field before the local farmer begins plowing into it. As she seeks help from nearby rats, she uncovers a deeper mystery into the origins of the hyper-intelligent rats tied to her late husband.

When the deposed European King Shadov (Charlie Chaplin) arrives in New York as a new exile, he realizes he must earn a living and accidentally discovers that television commercials afford him the opportunity to do just that. Chaplin, directing himself in his last starring role, lets fly with anarchic humor and political outrage as he lacerates American follies with razor-sharp comic ingenuity.
