In October and November of 1964, the Oscar Peterson Trio walked into a New York studio with Peterson on piano, Ray Brown on bass, and Ed Thigpen on drums, and cut what would become one of the most beloved piano trio albums in jazz history: We Get Requests. Six decades later, it's still the record many trios measure themselves against — a masterclass in swing, trio interplay, and wonderful arrangements that also incorporate the era's bossa nova influence.
