On the afternoon of Halloween, stop by the Hunnewell Lawn to learn about the most sinister plants in the Arboretum’s collections. Armed with spiky thorns, sticky latex, and chemical warfare, these plant species defend themselves from hungry herbivores, other plants—and sometimes from humans who wander too close.

On November 1, starting at 2pm, join us at the Multicultural Arts Center for the return of our Día de los Muertos Festival! The afternoon will begin with a cultural festival and gathering featuring artisan vendors, live traditional music, a commemorative ofrenda (altar), and a procession of catrinas, followed by a live orchestral performance by Orquesta UNIDOS, an ensemble of distinguished Latin American musicians.
