Set on one block in a rapidly changing Brazilian city, this enthralling episodic story follows an old aristocrat attempting to maintain his hold on a fiefdom increasingly dense with paranoid high-rise-dwelling yuppies. Simmering clashes of class and race escalate with an often-humorous upstairs-downstairs vibe when the neighborhood hires a questionable security firm to protect the block.
