This August, contestants are channeling their inner Final “Gurl” in a horror-themed competition.

From the Ashes: The Birth and Rise of Hip-Hop is a powerful theatrical production that brings to life the origins of one of the world’s most influential cultural movements. The play honors the pioneering emcees, during its earliest years, through dynamic storytelling and performances.

Showdown gives you a chance to show off your hard-earned musculature and how you incorporate it into your costume, from barbarian warriors to anime heroes, to video game characters. Contestants are judged on their physique, their costume, and how well they present their character.
